Vehicle Specifications

Trims Levels

The 2019 Ram 1500 is available in an impressive and attractive array of trim levels, all of which have a 2-tone cabin treatment and broad range of modern and luxurious features.

The 6 trims include the Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited. Below is a breakdown of each.

Tradesman

The Tradesman is the entry-level trim of the 2019 Ram 1500. It comes with 18-inch steel wheels and vinyl upholstery. The Uconnect® infotainment interface features 6 stereo speakers, a 5-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, dual USB inputs with rear-seat USB charge ports, and an auxiliary audio jack.

Standard features on the Tradesman include cruise control, trailer sway control, automatic headlights, a locking tailgate, a 40/20/40-split folding bench seat, push-button ignition, and air conditioning.

Big Horn

The Big Horn, or "Lone Star" as it's dubbed in Texas, is similar to the Tradesman with its vinyl upholstery and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Uconnect® infotainment system, however, features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration.

Extra features on the Big Horn - in addition to those of Tradesman - include a 60/40-split folding rear bench seat, LED headlights and taillights, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable pedals, air suspension, bed utilities, a larger fuel tank, and off-road underbody protection.

Rebel

The Rebel is one trim level up from the Big Horn, with a similar infotainment system. It's designed for off-road explorations, so adventurers are welcomed.

The interior has a more luxurious cloth upholstery. Other new vehicle features include LED headlights and fog lights, specialized off-road tires and skid plates, fortified shocks and suspension, front tow hooks, a power-adjustable driver seat, Sirius XM satellite radio, and a Class IV trailer hitch.

Laramie

The Laramie trim level brings a new level of comfort and convenience to the trim line-up. The infotainment interface features a 8.4-inch touchscreen display, 9-speaker setup with subwoofer, and an emergency notification system.

Other upgrades on this trim include power adjustable 40/20/40-split bench front seats, driverseat position memory, ventilated front outboard seats, 2 rear seat USB inputs, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry, and a heated steering wheel.

Laramie Longhorn

The Laramie Longhorn takes you into a more luxurious level with its upgraded leather upholstery, spray-in bed liner, and 22-inch truck wheels.

New additions to the system that takes convenience and comfort a notch higher include heated and ventilated reclining rear seats, a navigation system, infotainment system with a built-in CD player, leather-bound wood steering wheel, power tailgate release, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Limited

The Limited trim is the most luxurious and feature-rich of all the 2019 Ram 1500 trim levels.

It comes with 22-inch wheels, premium-leather bucket seats, adjustable air suspension, power-retractable side steps, chrome exterior trim, power-folding mirrors, bed utilities, and much more.

Body Styles

The 2019 Ram 1500 is available in 2 body styles: the Quad Cab and Crew Cab.

The Quad Cab is the standard style designed to seat as many as 6 passengers. It comes with a standard 6-foot, 4-inch bed and 3/4 inch rear doors.

The Crew Cab is wider with more rear seat legroom and a reclining back seat in some models. The bed comes in either the standard size 6-foot, 4-inch or the shorter 5-foot, 7-inch specifications. Unlike the Quad, the Crew Cab rear doors are full-sized.

Exterior

Regardless of the trim or cab, the 2019 Ram 1500 is a gorgeous pickup that appeals to all truck lovers.

While the lower trim levels have a more simplistic exterior kit, the Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited trims feature chrome to blacked-out grilles on mirror caps, door handles, exhaust tips, side windows, and other accents.

Ram got rid of the crosshair grille from previous models and replaced it with a simple belt buckle design. The truck also features LED headlights and taillights with 6-spoke 20-inch wheels.

Powertrain

Under the hood of the 2019 Ram 1500 is a powerful engine with efficient horsepower, torque, and transmission.

The truck employs a hybrid engine assist technology known as "eTorque." The eTorque mild hybrid system replaces the alternator with a motor/generator unit that stores electric energy in a small 48-volt lithium-ion battery. The electric motor assisted eTorque allows for a quicker and smoother automatic stop/start system. It also provides a torque boost and uses regenerative braking to replenish power in the engine.

The Tradesman, Big Horn, and Rebel trims are powered by a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine with 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The Laramie, Laramie Long Horn, and Limited trims are powered by a 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.

That equates to 90 pound-feet of additional torque for the V6 engine and 130 pound-feet of torque for the V8. The two engines are also paired with a smart shifting, 8-speed automatic transmission, a rear-wheel drive (RWD), and a 3.21 axle ratio.

Payload & Towing Capacity

With a stronger frame comes a larger payload and towing capacity.

The payload of the 2019 Ram 1500 ranges from 1,670 to 2,300 pounds, depending on the trim level. Whereas the maximum towing capacity is 12,750 pounds, so even heavy trailers can be hauled safely and securely.

Dimension & Size

The new Ram 1500 is surprisingly lightweight, despite its strong aluminum and steel body construction.

This pickup weighs about 225 pounds less than the 2018 Ram 1500. The wheelbase of the 2019 Ram 1500 measures at 144.6 inches, which is 4.1 inches longer than the previous model. Measuring from stem to stern, the truck has a length of 232.9 inches, which is 3.9 inches longer the previous truck. Looking inside, the rear legroom is 45.1 inches long, a 4.9-inch difference from its predecessor.

Fuel Economy

The 2019 Ram 1500 is available in both gas and diesel. The fuel efficiency is dependent on the
engine type and whether or not it includes eTorque.

Luxurious Interior

The interior of the all-new Ram 1500 offers the most incredibly spacious, sophisticated, and technologically advanced experience of its kind. From foldable seats to panoramic sunroofs to everything in between, driving will never feel the same again.

Upholstery

The high-end trim levels have premium leather upholstery while the low-level trims are more utilitarian with vinyl and cloth upholstery.

Also, upholstery colors are dependent on the trim levels. Available colors include black, red, diesel grey, mountain brown, new saddle, indigo, and light frost beige.

Cargo Space

Cargo space is gargantuan. There is over 150 liters of interior storage volume in total, which is nearly 2 times greater than competing full-size pickup trucks.

The rear center console is large enough to serve as a mini file cabinet. When the rear seats are folded up, 40-liter compartments are revealed underneath. The rear flat-load floor provides extra cargo storage as well. Backseat passengers have 45.1 inches of legroom, which is coupled perfectly with the reclining rear seats. The 2019 RAM 1500 also offers gloveboxes, rear door pockets, and large sub-floor bins for additional storage.

Infotainment System

The 2019 Ram 1500 features the 8.4-inch and 12.0-inch fully configurable, touchscreen Uconnect® infotainment system.

The touchscreen has a split-screen format to allow you to view and run 2 different applications at the same time. The interface also includes a navigation system, a voice control system, an active noise cancellation system, Bluetooth streaming audio, multiple USB and USB-C inputs (inside the console, front, and the rear), and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.

Sound System

What is an exceptional truck without exceptional sound? You can equip your Ram 1500 with the powerful, 900-watt Harman Kardon® premium audio system, which sports 19 speakers and stainless steel speaker grilles.

Also, there are signature Active Tuned Mass Modules (ATMMs) on the frame that cancel out unwanted vibrations. They work hand-in-hand with the active noise cancellation system to significantly reduce ambient sound for a smoother driving experience.

Safety Features

The Ram 1500 has a wide range of available safety and security features to keep you fully aware
and in control at all times, including:

  • 360° Surround View Camera gives you a complete picture of your surroundings for safer parking, loading, unloading, and departures.

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which helps maintain a reasonable distance between your vehicle and the car in front. The ACC can accelerate the truck to a preset speed or bring it to a controlled stop solely dependent on the sound of the vehicle in front.

  • Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection for safer maneuvering between lanes while automatically sensing and accounting for your trailer.

  • Forward Collision Warning with Advanced Brake Assist will automatically adjust for a safe distance between your truck and the vehicle in front. This is especially helpful during slower traffic.

  • Lane Departing Warning-Plus, which helps prevent unintentional lane drifting by returning the truck back into position.

  • Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist takes control of the steering when parking, enabling you to take fuller control of the gear position, brake, and accelerator.

Final Verdict

The 2019 Ram 1500 undisputedly takes the prize as the truck of the year. Just ask Motor Trend or the Texas Auto Writers Association.

There is no other truck that perfectly meets the demanding needs of truck lovers, both on- and off-road.
